Deliver premium, content rich websites with pre-made steps, client messages and project delivery notes to guide your team. From the minds of an experienced web agency, this process has been developed over a decade and works for small or big budget projects.
Making a performing, beautifully designed website begins with an equally great process. Inside the website template your team will access five phases of work that covers everything from the kickoff & content, design and then over into development and handover.
Not only will this template supercharge the setup process you’ll find the process simple and easy to deliver.
You can bet that every awwwards worthy website had a stellar process and meticulous attention to detail at each step. In this first discovery phase you’ll find;
An education step to help clients understand what’s ahead
Workshop preparation to fire-up the first strategy meets
A post-workshop ‘confirmation’ step to cover any changes from scope
Learning more about the client and the website is foundational to your web process. With workshop requirements sorted, strategy delivered and scope sorted, you can move on with confidence that your team can deliver on the original brief and budget (or adjust before you get too deep).
Content architecture is the backbone to a high-end website. This is where you’ll plan out the sitemap, what content will go on each page, wireframes and you’ll define the functionality. This is where all the ideas start to fall into place and the client grasps your vision for the website.
Inside this important phase, the project lead will find;
A sitemap step to confirm page requirements and flush out any scope issues
Content outlines for each page to help guide the client to write their own content or for your own in-house team to confirm key parts of the page story
Wireframes to flesh out all of the details and get hyper focussed on the copy and page flow
An approval step at the end of the phase to make sure all work is signed off and ready for design!
With all of the planning steps completed, it’s time to get the design team involved. You will find a phase overview step to help guide the client and set expectations, listing what’s included and anything that’s out of scope.
The design phase is setup with a ‘first templates’ step, which is where the PM will share the design concept for a couple of pages. The idea is to line up a meeting and share the designs, talking your client through your strategy & ideas and importantly to get client buy-in. Our template will encourage the PM to seek approval from the client before moving on, using the outlign approval feature.
With a clear read on where to head on the design, you’ll wrap up this phase by designing the rest of the pages, working through any feedback with the client and once again, getting that iron-clad approval in place before you head off into development.
The team have done all the hard work - workshops, confirming content, requirements, and locking in some awesome design. With everything confirmed your team will now go into execution mode - it's time to make all these ideas real through code. Your devs will roll up their sleeves and create the final product.
There’s a step for a staging review, where all pages are ready to be viewed in a live environment and you can gather any feedback on animations, responsiveness etc
A final step to seek client approval before the site goes live
Reaching the handover stage is a major milestone and signals that the project is coming to a close. There’s a couple of formalities to take care of;
A step for launch planning (agree on the day and time, co-ordinate everyone involved)
Remind the client of your warranty period and bug fix policy
The very last step in the web process is to ask for the all important client feedback. If you’ve followed the process and run a tight ship you can count on a 5 star review and some internal kudos for delivering a smooth project!
