Inside the Process

Crafting a stand-out logo or brand mark for your client starts with a thoughtful process. In this template you’ll discover an end-to-end workflow from Logo strategy to brand guide. Includes all the key steps and client messages to speed up your setup time and deliver incredible work.

This template was created by an experienced agency team for smaller to medium logo projects

1. Discovery

When you're working on establishing a new identity, having a well-planned logo strategy can be really helpful. In the first part of this brand template, you'll discover:

  • A section that explains the process to clients, so they know what to expect.

  • Tips and preparations for workshops to make the initial strategy meeting more effective.

  • A step where you can share your creative ideas and vision for the brand.

This template is a handy tool for project managers and agency owners who want to start a brand project with ease and leave a positive impression on clients with a thoughtful approach.

2. Concepts

A logo can be an incredible business asset and for good reason: Logo's are about gaining attention and shifting perceptions. In this phase your team will be exploring ideas and concepts influenced by the strategy work already done, and shaping them into something the agency is proud to share. In this phase;

  • A step for Initial concepts: Share your work while its a little raw and still forming up to show your progress, thinking and ideas and get the client involved early.

  • A second step to cover another round of design work and respond to earlier feedback

  • A final step to lock in the direction and seek approval to move forward, focussing on one key concept

3. Design

From the concepts phase your team should have an approved idea to take forward into the logo design phase. Your team will start this body of work with an educational step, providing the client with a rundown on what’s ahead and also to flag anything that’s not in the scope.

The work then focuses on a major design round to advance the favourite mark, adding in type and colours, getting it all working really nicely together and importantly in line with the strategy. Followed by a smaller round of changes - mainly for small clean-ups and minor things.

To clean things up and move on, it’s an approval step to sign off the logo!

4. Brand Guide

You can see the finish line approaching on this project. The client is psyched to launch this new logo out into the world, so there’s only one thing left to do. Wrap up all your good work into a sleek brand book to guide the client (and agency) with future brand assets.

When we reach the last step of the project, we'll request feedback from the client regarding the work and the overall process. If everything meets their satisfaction, you can then kindly ask the client to provide your studio with a quick review or testimonial. Post that to socials and watch the work roll in.
